Climate Change
LRQA provide management system services to help you achieve your Climate Change objectives.
The climate change Opportunity
The challenge of climate change has become a business reality. Companies face the growing prospect of voluntary and mandatory climate change programmes where they must account for their carbon usage and measure progress in reducing their footprint. For responsible companies wanting to demonstrate their climate change credentials, this presents an opportunity to enhance their corporate reputation, improve performance and gain competitive advantage.
An effective climate change strategy, carefully designed to match the needs of your business and verified by a recognised independent and impartial party, will deliver significant business benefits. It will:
provide a verifiable record of your greenhouse gas (GHG) management and emissions reductions;
target areas where performance can be improved
address stakeholder demands for transparency; and
bring credibility and trust to your emission reduction claims
These benefits can translate into cost savings as well as opportunities to enhance your reputation with customers and supply chain partners, thereby securing and sustaining your business.

CDM
The UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism allows companies in industrialised countries wishing to invest in cost-efficient GHG reduction projects in developing countries to offset their own reduction commitments or trade excess certified emission reductions (CERs).
LRQA performs independent validation and verification of projects to confirm conformance with CDM decisions, procedures and methodologies and allow the project to be registered and to receive CERs.
If you are investing in a CDM project contact LRQA to see how our global expertise can be applied to your project investment.

ISO GHG Standards
The ISO GHG standards provide a unified internationally agreed framework for measuring GHG emissions, verifying claims made about them, and accrediting the bodies which carry out such activities. LRQA is able to provide validation or verification assurance to organisations of their GHG assertions under ISO 14064.

Certified Emissions Management And Reduction Scheme (CEMARS®)
CEMARS is Australia's first internationally accredited Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions measurement, management and reduction certification scheme. It recognises the actions of businesses and organisations who measure their GHG emissions, understand their liabilities and put in place strategies to reduce emissions in their organisation and more widely through their supply chain.
Organisations participating in CEMARS gain independent verification that their emissions are calculated in accordance with National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) act requirements.
CEMARS® can help you reduce carbon, reduce risk, reduce cost. Find out more about CEMARS®
