In June 2018, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the new edition of international food safety management system (FSMS) standard ISO 22000:2018.
ISO 22000:2018 is the global food safety management system standard for the whole food supply chain, from growers and producers, processors and packagers to transport and point of sale. It can also extend to suppliers of non-food products and services, like cleaning and equipment manufacturers, and can be used by any size of organisation.
The revision will align ISO 22000 with ISO’s high level structure, Annex SL, on which all new standards are to be based. It will also reflect and cover all comments on improvements received about the standard.
