ISO 45001, the new International Occupational Health and Safety Management System Standard, is currently at Draft International Standard (DIS) stage and the ballot stage is due to close later this week (12 May).
Voting on the DIS began at the end of March and during this stage of the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) revision process, ISO national standards body members form a position on the draft and submit any comments they may have.
Steve Williams, LRQA System and Governance Manager, said, “The ballot period is a significant stage in the ISO revisions process. ISO members must form a position on the DIS and the comments submitted could make the difference in the ultimate progress of the standard.”
The Project Committee responsible for the development of ISO 45001 is ISO/PC 283 and more information about their work can be found on the ISO website.
Further updates on the outcome of the ballot will be released at the earliest opportunity.
